I discovered Mochilato in Irvine about a year ago on a drive back to San Diego from Los Angeles. If you're a lover of Asian treats or just an ice cream/gelato fanatic, you should definitely check this place out! Mochilato takes the popular snack and froyo topper, Japanese rice cakes called "mochis", and combines it with tons of different flavours of gelato to give you Mochilatos: delicious bite-sized morsels of gelato wrapped in a thin layer of mochi. They have a wide variety of flavours to choose from - I've yet to try all of them!
I wish I never saw this post because I'm dying to try one of those! I've actually attempted to make my own with green tea and red bean ice cream, but it's a lot harder to make than it seems haha. I'd rather just buy them at my local T&T supermarket, but they're SUPER expensive.
ReplyDeleteSomeone should definitely start up a Mochilato here in Toronto - I'm sure they'll get a lot of business!! :P
